OK Men,
I appreciate the importance of the heading of Proverbs chapter 4. It says, “Get wisdom at any cost.”
Any cost. Forget the game. Stop scrolling through mindless videos. You may even have to pull yourself away from family time. The Word tells us that gaining wisdom is that important.
Men, you are demonstrating that cost by reading these posts, reading your Bible, and engaging in these challenges. I thank you. What you are doing is important and I hope you are feeling the benefits.
The verse that is standing out to me right now is verse 19, “But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble.”
I know why I stumble. Simple, I’m an idiot. I am sinful. I am a fallen, broken human being in need of a savior. This verse makes me realize what a blessing it is to know that.
There are those who will try and try and try to make their plans come to fruition, to find any measure of success, but will stumble. Perhaps the most painful part isn’t the stumble, but the lack of understanding as to why they failed.
They do not know what makes them stumble. Imagine being in the darkness of cluelessness. It’s all the more reason we need to share the gospel with those practicing the way of the wicked.
Today, I am grateful for the light that Jesus casts in my life. Even the light that is cast on my mistakes.
